Article summary

App Catalog

Use of the Webtrends SharePoint Tag Installer add-in requires a properly configured app-catalog in the environment.

Please see Microsoft official documentation for help creating an app catalog site.

Permissions

Deployment of add-ins to a site collection directly and enable it generaly require Site Administrator permissions. The add-in can also be deployed in bulk via managed paths. Permissions required for this option are unknown, but a Site Owner will still need to enable the add-in on the site directly after deployment via managed paths.

Custom Scripting

When enabled, the add-in inserts a User Custom Action onto the site collection. This requires that the Allow custom scripting to be enabled. By default this is enabled for classic sites, but is disabled on modern sites.

If this is not enabled on your modern sites, then tracking will not function if a user views any pages such as a document library using theclassic experience and some interactions will not be reported on.

Please see Microsoft official documentation for enabling this.

Valid DCSID

In order to enable the add-in, a valid DCSID or Data Collection Server Identifier must be provided. A new DCSID can be obtained when making a new space within the Webtrends Analytics 10 interface, or a new data source within the Webtrends Analytics 9 interface. Existing DCSIDs can be obtained by reviewing the Space Details (A10) or within the Data Sources (A9) page.
