# Webtrends Tagging Deployment Options

## Deployment Options

### Tenant-Wide Scope

The [Webtrends Tag Manager](https://onpremises.webtrends.help/docs/about-webtrends-tag-manager) web part utilizes the *tenant-wide deploy* option of a SharePoint Framework Application Customizer *Extension* to add the tracking JavaScript to your SharePoint Online environment with minimal effort. Configuration of the tracking code for all sites is centralized and easy to use manage with either global settings or customized per site collection. Classic sites can also be tagged with a few additional clicks, which deploys the *User Custom Action* for the tracking JavaScript to the selected site collections. All related resources are hosted in SharePoint Online directly, and there's no need to manage external files.

          Note:

With this option, the *extension* is automatically added to all modern pages in the tenancy when uploaded to the app-catalog.

### Single-Site Scope

As of the V3.0 release, Webtrends Tag Manager also supports a non-tenant wide deployment option allowing tagging of specified site collections without adding the extension to *all* modern pages in the tenancy. This version installs the [Webtrends Tag Manager](https://onpremises.webtrends.help/docs/about-webtrends-tag-manager) package to the desired sites, which adds the *extension* to all modern pages and the *User Custom Action* to all classic pages in just that site. The package can also be installed onto sub-sites within the site collection depending on the configuration of the*sub-site depth* option found in the web part side panel.

          Note:

With this option, the *extension* is not installed to any sites when uploaded to the app-catalog. An Administrator must use the web part UI to install the package to the desired sites individually.

---

Webtrends also provides separate [Add-in and App Extensions](https://onpremises.webtrends.help/docs/about-webtrends-apps) which can be deployed on a per site collection scope and and configured on each site rather than in a centralized location.
