# Webtrends Tagging Deployment Options

## Deployment Options

### Webtrends Advanced Analytics WSP Feature
Webtrends offers a *WSP Feature* to deploy the tracking JavaScript to your environment. This can be scoped to the *Farm*, *Web Application*, *Site Collection*, or *Individual Sites* as needed. The configuration of the code is typically handled by consulting prior to delivery, but can be altered on the servers directly after deployment if necessary.

::: (Info) (Note:)
This method is most commonly used for SharePoint On-Premises environments.
:::

:::(Info) (Note:)
*WSP Features* appear to be the only method of adding the tracking JavaScript to *My Sites*.
:::

### Tag Administrator
The **Webtrends Legacy SharePoint Tag Administrator** is a precreate IIS Website that allows you to bulk deploy and configure tracking across your environment with a single UI. This tool retreives a list of your site collections and deploys the **Webtrends SharePoint Tag Installer** App/Add-in to the desired collections and apply app configurations in bulk.

::: (Info) (Note:)
This method recommended if use of a WSP Feature is not desired.
:::

### App Catalog
The *App Catalog* method involves uploading the **Webtrends SharePoint Tag Installer** App/Add-in to the tenant app catalog and then either deploying via managed paths directly to a site collection in the Add an app page.

:::(Info) (Note:)
Due to the inability of an Add-in to apply the *user custom action* directly to the site collection during deployment, this method requires an additional *enable* step on each site collection after deployment. For this reason, the **Webtrends Legacy SharePoint Tag Administrator** was created.
:::

### Manual Tagging
In rare occasions customers wish to apply the tracking code to their master pages. With this method you edit the host the tracking JavaScript files in a desired location and then point to the files with a \<script> line within the desired master pages.

::: (Info) (Note:)
This is generally not recommended.
