# Installation

The Data Collection API is installed in the same process as the SmartSource Data Collector. Instructions are found [here](/v1/docs/installing-smartsource-data-collector).

Configuration is similar to the SmartSource Data Collector. The files for the Data Collection API can be found in the SmartSource Data Collector installation folder under \dcapi.

#### Site Map

The Site Map can be found under **\dcapi\cfg\webtrendssites.lst**. Configuration information for the webtrendssites.lst can be found [here](/v1/docs/configuring-the-site-map-file).

#### Configuration
