# About SharePoint Modern View Extension

The new SharePoint *modern* view utilizes the SharePoint Framework (SPFx), and does by default does not allow the user of the *user custom actions* utilized by the **Webtrends SharePoint Tag Installer**. Therefore, tracking of *modern* pages requires the use of an additional *application extension* on the site to facilitate the tracking anlaytics. This is provided via the **Webtrends SharePoint Online Modern View Extension**.

This app extension is intended to be installed in parallel with the app/add-in, and does not provide tracking of modern sites on its own.
